developing countries : Section 1 : Economic Development
- Developing countries are countries that don't have a very advanced economy. This means that their GNP is lower than more industrial countries. There are several reasons why developing countries have a slow developing economy. One is that their population grows very fast.
- Some countries can't afford a great education, because the families can't afford to send their kids to school. If the kids can go to school, they can't focus as well, since they have to also hold down a job to help their families.
- A few religions can affect the country's ability to expand. Some countries have borrowed too much and can't pay off their debts, which means their economy will suffer as well.
- Government officials have stolen money from the public, which could have helped the country's people, or help the economy expand later.
- War can also be a factor, where a country is crippled by civil war, or war with other nations. The aftermath of war can affect the country's people.
- There are international agencies that help developing countries develop.
